What information we collect

When you buy from our Etsy shop.Etsy shares the details we need to make and send your order: your name, delivery address, the items you bought and any personalisation you type in, such as a child's name. Etsy handles your payment. We never see your card details.

When you buy from adaandfig.com. Your email address, the items you bought and your order and download history. Payments are handled by Stripe, and we never see your card details. When you sign in to your account, we email you a one-time sign-in link instead of using a password.

When you save favourites or join our mailing list. If you are signed in, the illustrations you favourite. If you join the mailing list, your email address.

Cookies and browser storage. We use one essential cookie that keeps you signed in to your account for up to 72 hours. Your basket and favourites are remembered in your own browser's storage. We do not use analytics or advertising cookies.

To protect the site. To stop abuse such as repeated sign-in requests, we record a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address or email address for a short time. We cannot turn it back into the original.

When you contact us. Your name, email address and anything you include in your message.

Our Pinterest and Etsy tools. We use the official Pinterest API and the official Etsy Open API to manage our own accounts only: posting pins of our own products to our own Pinterest boards, and reading orders and updating listings in our own Etsy shop. These tools do not collect information from other Pinterest or Etsy users. We sign in to them through the official OAuth process. We never ask for or store anyone's Pinterest or Etsy password. The access keys these tools use are stored in encrypted, private storage, and only we can use them.

How we use your information

  • To make, personalise and deliver your order, including your download links.
  • To send you a proof of a personalised print before it is printed, and to answer your messages.
  • To send your receipt and sign-in links, and our newsletter if you asked for it.
  • To keep the records the law requires, such as tax and accounting records.
  • To post our own products to our own Pinterest boards.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

  • Etsy, which runs the shop where you placed an Etsy order.
  • Stripe, which takes payment for orders on adaandfig.com.
  • Our print partner (PrintShrimp, and occasionally another print-on-demand printer), which prints and posts your order. They receive your name, delivery address and the print file.
  • Delivery companies, which receive your name and address to deliver your parcel.
  • Vercel, which hosts this website.
  • Supabase, which stores our customer, order and mailing list records.
  • Cloudflare, which stores the files you download.
  • Resend, which sends our emails: receipts, sign-in links and the newsletter.
  • Web3Forms, which passes the messages you send through our contact forms to our inbox.

Each of these companies only gets what it needs to do its part of the job.

How long we keep it

We keep order details for 6 years, because UK tax law requires it. Personalised print files are deleted 12 months after delivery unless you ask us to keep them for a re-order. Messages are kept for 2 years. You stay on our mailing list until you ask us to remove you.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or object to how we use it. Email hello@adaandfig.comand we will reply within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

Personalised prints often carry a child's name. We only use that name to make and send the print you ordered, and we never contact children directly.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
